Euro Jet Ready to Support Flights for the UN Climate Change Conference in Belem, Brazil
Euro Jet is ready to support your flights related to the upcoming UN Climate Change Conference taking place in Belem, Brazil on November 10-21, 2025.
The 30th session of the Conference, known more commonly as COP30, will bring together world leaders, scientists, as well as representatives of non-governmental organizations and civil society to discuss the key actions needed to address climate change. Due to the event’s high-profile nature, comprehensive security measures will be enforced in and around Belem to ensure the safety of COP30 participants.
This will include temporary airspace restrictions around the city, with multiple exclusion zones and specific flight procedures established by the Brazilian Air Force. For any military or diplomatic flights, AVOEM authorization will be required. While standard visa entry procedures will apply to both passengers and crew, increased security screening and documentation verification can be expected.

Euro Jet’s representative in LATAM, Isabella Aquino Rocha will be the main point of contact for our customers during the event. You can learn more about Isabella’s expertise and the advantages of working with a reliable trip support company in the LATAM region in this article. Together with our 24/7 OCC Dispatch Team, Isabella will coordinate all services needed by our customers’ flight operations on the ground in Brazil. In cooperation with our trusted local service partners, they will ensure that a wide range of ground support services is available for your stay in Belem, including ground handling, jet fuel, and in-flight catering.
At Belem Airport (SBBE/BEL), slots will be required for all flights, with a +/- 15-minute tolerance. All flight plans must be submitted at least 24 hours in advance via SIGMA (the Brazilian flight planning system). Please keep in mind that all aircraft must be equipped with a serviceable transponder, maintain two-way radio communication, and carry their own towbar on board.
The parking situation at Belem Airport is expected to be challenging during the event as the number of available spots is very limited. The airport offers a total of 30 parking stands, which also includes those for scheduled daily flights. A PPR is mandatory and must be submitted through the handling agent to secure a parking space. Overnight stays are permitted only on the civil apron, while the military apron is restricted to a maximum three-hour turnaround. All aircraft with wingspans exceeding 36 meters are not authorized to remain overnight at Belem Airport.

Due to the high probability of congestion at the airport, we advise our customers to strictly adhere to their assigned PPR and slot times. If repositioning becomes necessary, it will be essential to carefully evaluate aircraft performance and operational planning as the nearest alternate airport is located 250 nautical miles away from Belem. The main alternate options include international airports in Macapa (SBMQ/MCP), Sao Lius (SBSL/SLZ), and Manaus (SBEG/MAO). Two other options in the area – Maraba (SBMA/MAB) and Santarem (SBSN/STM) – are domestic-only airports with more limited operational support.
As for crew accommodation, we strongly recommend avoiding overnight stays in Belem as hotel availability is extremely limited and prices are skyrocketing. We encourage our customers to contact us as soon as possible to ensure everything is carefully planned in advance and all necessary permits and services are in place for your arrival. Please reach out to our Sales Team or our 24/7 OCC with any requests.
We look forward to supporting your flights in Brazil!
